Da hieb auch alles Volk ein jeder einen Ast ab, und sie folgten Abimelech nach und legten sie an das Gewölbe und steckten damit die Burg in Brand, so daß alle Leute der Burg von Sichem starben, etwa tausend Männer und Weiber.

Da hieben auch sämtliche Krieger Mann für Mann einen Busch ab, schritten dann hinter Abimelech her, warfen ihn über den Kellerraum und steckten ihnen so den Kellerraum von oben her in Brand, so daß nun auch sämtliche Bewohner der Burg von Sichem ums Leben kamen - bei 1000 Männer und Weiber.

And all the people likewise cut down every man his bough, and followed Abimelech, and put them to the stronghold, and set the stronghold on fire upon them; so that all the men of the tower of Shechem died also, about a thousand men and women.

And surrounding the fort, they set it on fire: and so it came to pass, that with the smoke and with the fire a thousand persons were killed, men and women together, of the inhabitants of the town of Sichem.

於是眾人也各自砍下一根樹枝，跟隨著亞比米勒，把樹枝放在地穴上，放火燒了地穴，以致示劍樓的人都死了，男女約有一千人。
