Im Gefilde von Siddim aber war eine Erdharzgrube an der andern. Als nun die Könige von Sodom und Gomorra fliehen mußten, versanken sie darein, und was übrig blieb, foh auf das Gebirge.

Now the vale of Siddim was full of slime pits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and they fell there, and they that remained fled to the mountain.
