  2. The angle and bubble indicator update in real time.
  3. Tilt the device — the bubble moves to show the direction and magnitude of the tilt.

About this tool

This tool turns your smartphone into a digital bubble level using the built-in accelerometer. The DeviceOrientation API provides the tilt angle in degrees, and the visual bubble shows whether the surface is level.

The accuracy depends on the phone's accelerometer calibration. Most phones are accurate to about ±1°, which is sufficient for hanging a picture or checking a shelf. For construction work, use a calibrated spirit level.

Desktop computers do not have accelerometers, so this tool is mobile-only.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is it?

Typically ±1° on a modern smartphone. Not precise enough for construction — use a real spirit level.

It shows "not available".

Your device does not have an accelerometer, or the browser does not support the DeviceOrientation API. Try Chrome on a mobile device.

Can I calibrate it?

Not in this tool. Place your phone on a known level surface to check the offset.
