لم يرفض الله شعبه الذي سبق فعرفه. ام لستم تعلمون ماذا يقول الكتاب في ايليا كيف يتوسل الى الله ضد اسرائيل قائلا

Nezavrhlť Bůh lidu svého, kterýž předzvěděl. Zdali nevíte, co písmo praví o Eliášovi, kterak se modlí Bohu proti lidu Izraelskému, řka:

God did not cast off his people which he foreknew. Or know ye not what the scripture saith of Elijah? how he pleadeth with God against Israel:

And he departed into Syria with words of peace, and they opened the cities to him, and they were meeting with him. For king Alexander had commanded them to go out to meet him, because he was his father-in-law.

Dieu n’a point rejeté son peuple, lequel il a préconnu. Ne savez-vous pas ce que l’écriture dit dans [l’histoire d’]Élie, comment il fait requête à Dieu contre Israël?

Lamente-toi, cyprès, car le cèdre est tombé, les arbres magnifiques ont été ravagés! Lamentez-vous, chênes de Basan, car la forêt impénétrable est abattue!

Gud har ikke forkastet sitt folk, som han forut kjente. Eller vet I ikke hvad Skriften sier på det sted om Elias, hvorledes han treder frem for Gud mot Israel:
