Can I see places on Google Maps?
Yes. When a modern location is known, a Google Maps link is provided so you can see the actual geographic location today. 87 of the 118 places have Google Maps links.
What does "First mention" mean?
Each place shows the first Bible verse where it is mentioned, helping you understand when and in what context each location enters the biblical narrative.
What is the modern equivalent?
The modern equivalent shows what the place is called today or where it is located in the modern world. For example, Babylon's modern equivalent is "Babylon" in modern Iraq, and Bethlehem remains "Bethlehem."
