فقال له عبيده ما هذا الأمر الذي فعلت. لما كان الولد حيّا صمت وبكيت ولما مات الولد قمت واكلت خبزا.

Then said his servants unto him, What thing is this that thou hast done? thou didst fast and weep for the child, while it was alive; but when the child was dead, thou didst rise and eat bread.

Then his servants said to him, Why have you been acting in this way? you were weeping and going without food while the child was still living; but when the child was dead, you got up and had a meal.

But his servants said to him: “What is this word that you have done? You fasted and were weeping, on behalf of the infant, while he was still alive. But when the boy was dead, you arose and ate bread.”

And his servants said to him, What thing is this which thou hast done? thou didst fast and weep for the child alive; but as soon as the child is dead, thou dost rise and eat bread.

तब उसके कर्मचारियों ने उस से पूछा, तू ने यह क्या काम किया है? जब तक बच्चा जीवित रहा, तब तक तू उपवास करता हुआ रोता रहा; परन्तु ज्योंही बच्चा मर गया, त्योंही तू उठ कर भोजन करने लगा।

Hizmetkârları, “Neden böyle davranıyorsun?” diye sordular, “Çocuk yaşarken oruç tuttun, ağladın; ama ölünce kalkıp yemek yemeye başladın.”

Các tôi tớ hỏi người rằng: Vua làm chi vậy? Khi đứa trẻ nầy còn sống, vua kiêng ăn và khóc vì nó; và bấy giờ, nó đã chết vua chờ dậy và ăn!
