اذا قلنا ندخل المدينة فالجوع في المدينة فنموت فيها. واذا جلسنا هنا نموت. فالآن هلم نسقط الى محلّة الاراميين فان استحيونا حيينا وان قتلونا متنا.

Díme-li: Poďme do města, hlad jest v městě, i zemřeme tam; pakli zde zůstaneme, také zemřeme. Protož nyní poďte, a utecme do vojska Syrských. Budou-li nás živiti, zůstaneme živi; pakli nás zbijí, též zemřeme.

Om vi sige: Vi ville gaa ind i Staden, saa er der Hunger i Staden, og vi dø der, og om vi blive her, da maa vi og dø; saa kommer nu og lader os gaa over til Syrernes Lejr, lade de os leve, saa leve vi, og dræbe de os, saa dø vi.

Wenn wir sprechen: Laßt uns in die Stadt gehen, so ist die Hungersnot in der Stadt, und wir werden daselbst sterben; und wenn wir hier bleiben, so werden wir auch sterben. Und nun kommt und laßt uns zu dem Lager der Syrer überlaufen; wenn sie uns am Leben lassen, so leben wir, und wenn sie uns töten, so sterben wir.

So kommt nun, wir wollen zum Heere der Syrer übergehen! Lassen sie uns leben, so leben wir, töten sie uns, so sind wir tot!

Wenn wir uns vornehmen wollten, in die Stadt hineinzugehen, trotzdem daß in der Stadt Hungersnot herrscht, so müßten wir dort sterben; bleiben wir aber hier, so müssen wir auch sterben. So laßt uns denn jetzt ins Lager der Aramäer überlaufen. Lassen sie uns am Leben, so bleiben wir leben; töten sie uns aber, nun so sterben wir!

εαν ειπωμεν, να εισελθωμεν εις την πολιν, η πεινα ειναι εν τη πολει, και θελομεν αποθανει εκει· εαν δε καθημεθα εδω, παλιν θελομεν αποθανει· τωρα λοιπον ελθετε, και ας πεσωμεν εις το στρατοπεδον των Συριων· εαν αφησωσιν ημας ζωντας, θελομεν ζησει. και εαν θανατωσωσιν ημας, θελομεν αποθανει.

εάν είπωμεν, να εισέλθωμεν εις την πόλιν, η πείνα είναι εν τη πόλει, και θέλομεν αποθάνει εκεί· εάν δε καθήμεθα εδώ, πάλιν θέλομεν αποθάνει· τώρα λοιπόν έλθετε, και ας πέσωμεν εις το στρατόπεδον των Συρίων· εάν αφήσωσιν ημάς ζώντας, θέλομεν ζήσει. και εάν θανατώσωσιν ημάς, θέλομεν αποθάνει.

If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there; and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.

If we say, We will go into the town, there is no food in the town, and we will come to our end there; and if we go on waiting here, death will come to us. Come then, let us give ourselves up to the army of Aram: if they let us go on living, then life will be ours; and if they put us to death, then death will be ours.

If we choose to enter the city, we will die from the famine. And if we remain here, we also will die. Therefore, come and let us flee over to the camp of the Syrians. If they spare us, we will live. But if they choose to kill us, we will die anyway.”

Se ni decidos eniri en la urbon, en la urbo estas ja malsato, kaj ni tie mortos; se ni sidos cxi tie, ni ankaux mortos; ni iru do kaj jxetu nin en la tendaron de la Sirianoj. Se ili lasos nin vivantaj, ni vivos; kaj se ili mortigos nin, ni mortos.

Si preferimos entrar en la ciudad, el hambre está en la ciudad, y moriremos allí; y si nos quedamos aquí, moriremos igualmente. Vamos, pues, y pasémonos al campamento de los sirios. Si ellos nos dejan vivir, viviremos; y si nos matan, moriremos.”

यदि हम कहें, कि नगर में जाएं, तो वहां मर जाएंगे; क्योंकि वहां मंहगी पड़ी है, और जो हम यहीं बैठे रहें, तौभी मर ही जाएंगे। तो आओ हम अराम की सेना में पकड़े जाएं; यदि वे हम को जिलाए रखें तो हम जीवित रहेंगे, और यदि वे हम को मार डालें, तौभी हम को मरना ही है।

Ha azt határozzuk is, hogy bemegyünk a városba, ott is inség van, és akkor ott halunk meg; ha pedig itt maradunk, akkor itt halunk meg; jertek el azért, szökjünk el a Siriabeliek táborába, ha meghagyják életünket, élünk, ha megölnek, meghalunk.

Dacă ne vom gîndi să intrăm în cetate, în cetate este foamete, şi vom muri; şi dacă vom sta aici, deasemenea vom muri. Haidem dar să ne aruncăm în tabăra Sirienilor; dacă ne vor lăsa cu viaţă, vom trăi, iar dacă ne vor omorî, vom muri.``

我們如果說：‘我們進城去吧！’城裡正有饑荒，我們就要死在那裡。我們如果坐在這裡，也是要死。現在，讓我們去投降亞蘭人的軍隊吧；如果他們饒我們一命，我們就可以活著；如果他們要殺死我們，我們就死吧。”
