وذبح لآلهة دمشق الذين ضاربوه وقال لان آلهة ملوك ارام تساعدهم انا اذبح فيساعدونني. واما هم فكانوا سبب سقوط له ولكل اسرائيل.

Και εθυσίαζεν εις τους θεούς της Δαμασκού, τους πατάξαντας αυτόν· και έλεγεν, Επειδή οι θεοί του βασιλέως της Συρίας βοηθούσιν αυτούς, εις τούτους θέλω θυσιάσει, διά να βοηθήσωσι και εμέ. Εκείνοι όμως εστάθησαν η φθορά αυτού και παντός του Ισραήλ.
