ووقف داود الملك على رجليه وقال اسمعوني يا اخوتي وشعبي. كان في قلبي ان ابني بيت قرار لتابوت عهد الرب ولموطئ قدمي الهنا وقد هيّأت للبناء.

Ich hatte selbst die Absicht, für die Lade mit dem Bundesgesetz des HERRN und für den Schemel der Füße unsers Gottes eine Unterkunftsstätte zu erbauen, und hatte schon Vorbereitungen für den Bau getroffen.

Und der König David erhob sich und sprach: Höret mir zu, meine Brüder und mein Volk! Ich hatte mir vorgenommen, eine Ruhestätte zu bauen für die Lade des Bundes des HERRN und als Schemel der Füße unseres Gottes, und ich hatte mich für den Bau gerüstet.

Da erhob sich David von seinem Sitz und sprach: Hört mich an, meine Brüder und mein Volk! Ich hatte im Sinne, für die Lade mit dem Gesetze Jahwes und den Schemel der Füße unseres Gottes eine Ruhestätte zu erbauen, und traf Vorbereitungen für den Bau.

Και σταθεις ο βασιλευς Δαβιδ επι των ποδων αυτου, ειπεν, Ακουσατε μου, αδελφοι μου και λαε μου· Εγω συνελαβον εν τη καρδια μου να οικοδομησω οικον αναπαυσεως δια την κιβωτον της διαθηκης του Κυριου και δια το υποποδιον των ποδων του Θεου ημων· και εκαμον ετοιμασιαν δια την οικοδομην.

Και σταθείς ο βασιλεύς Δαβίδ επί των ποδών αυτού, είπεν, Ακούσατέ μου, αδελφοί μου και λαέ μου· Εγώ συνέλαβον εν τη καρδία μου να οικοδομήσω οίκον αναπαύσεως διά την κιβωτόν της διαθήκης του Κυρίου και διά το υποπόδιον των ποδών του Θεού ημών· και έκαμον ετοιμασίαν διά την οικοδομήν.

Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: as for me, it was in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, and for the footstool of our God; and I had made ready for the building.

Then David the king got up and said, Give ear to me, my brothers and my people; it was my desire to put up a house, a resting-place for the ark of the Lord's agreement, and for the foot-rest of our God; and I had got material ready for the building of it.

And when the king had risen up and was standing, he said: “Listen to me, my brothers and my people. I thought that I would build a house, in which the ark of the covenant of the Lord, the footstool of our God, might rest. And so I prepared everything for its building.

And king David stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren and my people! I had in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of Jehovah and for the footstool of ourGod, and I have prepared to build.
