وملك عاي علقه على الخشبة الى وقت المساء. وعند غروب الشمس امر يشوع فانزلوا جثته عن الخشبة وطرحوها عند مدخل باب المدينة واقاموا عليها رجمة حجارة عظيمة الى هذا اليوم

Krále pak Hai oběsil na dřevě, a nechal ho tam až do večera. A když zapadlo slunce, rozkázal Jozue, aby složili tělo jeho s dřeva, a povrhli je u brány města, a nametali na ně hromadu kamení velikou, kteráž trvá až do dnešního dne.

Und er ließ den König zu Ai an einen Baum hängen bis an den Abend. Als aber die Sonne untergegangen war, gebot Josua, daß man seinen Leichnam vom Baume herabnehme; da warfen sie ihn unter das Tor der Stadt und errichteten über ihm einen großen Steinhaufen, der noch daselbst ist bis auf diesen Tag.

Und den König von Ai ließ er an einen Pfahl hängen bis zum Abend. Als aber die Sonne unterging, befahl Josua, seinen Leichnahm von dem Pfahle herabzunehmen. Sodann warf man ihn vor das Stadtthor und errichtete über ihm einen großen Steinhaufen; der befindet sich dort bis auf den heutigen Tag.
