A však ne tak obklíčí mrákota té země, kteráž ssoužena bude, jako když se ponejprv nepřítel dotkl země Zabulon a země Neftalím, ani jako potom, když více obtíží, naproti moři, při Jordánu Galilei lidnou.

Thi der skal ej være Mørke for det Land, hvor der nu er Trængsel; som han i den første Tid bragte Vanære over Sebulons Land og Nafthalis Land, saa skal han gøre det herligt paa det sidste, Landet ad Vejen ved Havet, paa hin Side Jordan, Hedningernes Galilæa.

Das Volk, das in Finsternis wandelt, wird ein großes Licht erblicken, über denen, die in umnachtetem Lande wohnen, wird Licht aufstrahlen.

(H8-23) Doch bleibt nicht im Dunkel das Land, das bedrängt ist. Wie er in der ersten Zeit das Land Sebulon und das Land Naphtali gering machte, so wird er in der Folgezeit zu Ehren bringen den Weg am Meere, jenseits des Jordan, das Galiläa der Heiden.

Das Volk, das in Finsternis wandert, wird ein großes Licht erblicken; über denen, die in umnachtetem Lande wohnen, wird ein Licht erglänzen.

Δεν θελει εισθαι ομως τοιουτον θαμβωμα εις την γην την τεθλιμμενην· εν τοις προτεροις καιροις εξουθενωσε την γην Ζαβουλων και την γην Νεφθαλειμ· εν δε τοις υστεροις εκαμεν ενδοξα τα μερη τα προς την οδον της θαλασσης, περαν του Ιορδανου, την Γαλιλαιαν των εθνων.

Δεν θέλει είσθαι όμως τοιούτον θάμβωμα εις την γην την τεθλιμμένην· εν τοις προτέροις καιροίς εξουθένωσε την γην Ζαβουλών και την γην Νεφθαλείμ· εν δε τοις υστέροις έκαμεν ένδοξα τα μέρη τα προς την οδόν της θαλάσσης, πέραν του Ιορδάνου, την Γαλιλαίαν των εθνών.

But there shall be no gloom to her that was in anguish. In the former time he brought into contempt the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali; but in the latter time hath he made it glorious, by the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations.

In earlier times he made the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali of small value, but after that he gave it glory, by the way of the sea, on the other side of Jordan, Galilee of the nations.

I have drawn all these things through my heart, so that I might carefully understand. There are just men as well as wise men, and their works are in the hand of God. And yet a man does not know so much as whether he is worthy of love or of hatred.

Nevertheless the darkness shall not be as when the distress was in the [land], at the time he at first lightly, and afterwards heavily, visited the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, — the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations:

All these things have I considered in my heart, that I might carefully understand them: there are just men and wise men, and their works are in the hand of God: and yet man knoweth not whether he be worthy of love, or hatred:

(H8:23) Sillä ei ole sillä (maakunnalla) yhtään pääsinpäivää, koska hän ahdistuksessa on; niinkuin entiseen aikaan Sebulonin ja Naphtalin maalle lievitys tapahtui, ja tulivat viimein kunnioitetuksi; niin myös ne meritien vieressä, tällä puolella Jordanin pakanain Galileassa.

Mais il ne fera pas toujours sombre, là où l'angoisse avait régné. Comme, au premier temps, Dieu a humilié la terre de Zabulon et la terre de Nephthali; ainsi, dans l'avenir, il couvrira de gloire la terre voisine de la mer, au-delà du Jourdain, la contrée des Gentils.

Car il n'y a plus de ténèbres pour la terre qui a été dans l'angoisse; comme le premier temps a couvert d'opprobre le pays de Zabulon et le pays de Nephthali, le dernier temps remplira de gloire le chemin de la mer, la contrée d'au-delà du Jourdain, le district des Gentils.

तौभी संकट-भरा अन्धकार जाता रहेगा। पहिले तो उसने जबूलून और नप्ताली के देशों का अपमान किया, परन्तु अन्तिम दिनों में ताल की ओर यरदन के पार की अन्यजातियों के गलील को महिमा देगा।

(H8-23) Perciocchè colei che fu afflitta, non sarà più ravvolta in tenebre. Come al tempo di prima Iddio avvilì il paese di Zabulon, e il paese di Neftali, così, nel tempo posteriore, egli riempirà di gloria il paese dalla parte del mare, di là dal Giordano, la Galilea de’ Gentili.

(H8-23) Ma le tenebre non dureranno sempre per la terra ch’è ora nell’angoscia. Come ne’ tempi passati Iddio coprì d’obbrobrio il paese di Zabulon e il paese di Neftali, così nei tempi avvenire coprirà di gloria la terra vicina al mare, di là del Giordano, la Galilea de’ Gentili.

For det skal ikke alltid være mørke for det land hvor det nu er trengsel; tidligere førte han vanære over Sebulons land og over Naftalis land, men i fremtiden skal han føre ære over det, over veien ved havet, landet på hin side Jordan, hedningenes Galilea.

Men myrker skal ikkje verta verande i det landet som no er i våde. I den tidi som gjekk, hev han late landet åt Sebulon og Naftali vera lite vyrdt, men i framtidi skal han lata vegen attmed havet koma til æra, landet på hi sida åt Jordan, heidningkrinsen.

Ale jednak nie tak zaćmiona będzie ona ziemia, która uciśniona będzie, jako pierwszego czasu, gdy Bóg dotknął ziemię Zabulon, i ziemię Neftalim; ani jako potem, gdy obciążył ku drodze morskiej przy Jordanie Galileę ludną.

(8:23) Nhưng, cho người đã chịu buồn rầu thì sẽ không có sự mờ mịt. Trong đời xưa Ðức Chúa Trời đã hạ đất Sa-bu-lôn và đất Nép-ta-li xuống; nhưng trong kỳ sau Ngài đã làm cho đất gần mé biển, tức là nơi bên kia sông Giô-đanh, trong xứ Ga-li-lê của dân ngoại, được vinh hiển.

但 那 受 過 痛 苦 的 必 不 再 見 幽 暗 。 從 前 神 使 西 布 倫 地 和 拿 弗 他 利 地 被 藐 視 ， 末 後 卻 使 這 沿 海 的 路 ， 約 但 河 外 ， 外 邦 人 的 加 利 利 地 得 著 榮 耀 。

黑暗中之光但那受過困苦的，必不再見幽暗。以前　神使西布倫和拿弗他利地被輕視，日後卻要使它們在沿海之路、約旦河外和外族人的加利利，得著榮耀。（本節在《馬索拉抄本》為8:23）
