A přitáhše, oblehli jej v Abel Betmaacha, a udělali násyp proti městu, kteréž se bránilo z bašt; všecken pak lid, kterýž byl s Joábem, usiloval podvrátiti zed.

Τότε ήλθον και επολιόρκησαν αυτόν εν Αβέλ-βαίθ-μααχά, και ύψωσαν πρόχωμα εναντίον της πόλεως, στήσαντες αυτό πλησίον του προτειχίσματος, και πας ο λαός, ο μετά του Ιωάβ, διώρυσσον το τείχος διά να κρημνίσωσιν αυτό.

And they came and besieged him in Abel of Beth-maacah, and they cast up a mound against the city, and it stood against the rampart; and all the people that were with Joab battered the wall, to throw it down.
