فقال له يوآب ما انت صاحب بشارة في هذا اليوم. في يوم آخر تبشّر وهذا اليوم لا تبشّر من اجل ان ابن الملك قد مات.

I řekl jemu Joáb: Nebyl bys dnes dobrým poslem, ale oznámíš to jiného dne; dnes však neoznamuj, proto že syn králův umřel.

Joab aber sprach zu ihm: Du bist heute kein Mann guter Botschaft! An einem andern Tage magst du gute Botschaft bringen, heute aber hättest du keine gute Botschaft zu bringen; denn des Königs Sohn ist tot!

Joab erwiderte ihm: Du bist am heutigen Tage nicht der Mann für eine Botschaft; ein andermal magst du Botschaft bringen: am heutigen Tage aber darfst du nicht Botschaft bringen, ist ja doch des Königs Sohn tot!

Και ειπε προς αυτον ο Ιωαβ, Δεν θελεις εισθαι την ημεραν ταυτην αγγελιαφορος, αλλ' εις αλλην ημεραν θελεις φερει αγγελιας· εις ταυτην δε την ημεραν δεν θελεις φερει αγγελιας, επειδη ο υιος του βασιλεως απεθανε.

Και είπε προς αυτόν ο Ιωάβ, Δεν θέλεις είσθαι την ημέραν ταύτην αγγελιαφόρος, αλλ' εις άλλην ημέραν θέλεις φέρει αγγελίας· εις ταύτην δε την ημέραν δεν θέλεις φέρει αγγελίας, επειδή ο υιός του βασιλέως απέθανε.

And Joab said unto him, Thou shalt not be the bearer of tidings this day, but thou shalt bear tidings another day; but this day thou shalt bear no tidings, because the king’s son is dead.

And Joab said, You will take no news today; another day you may give him the news, but you will take no news today, because the king's son is dead.

And Joab said to him: “You shall not be the messenger on this day. Instead, you shall report on another day. I am not willing for you to give the report today, because the son of the king is dead.”

And Joab said to him, Thou shalt not be a bearer of news to-day, but thou shalt carry the news another day; but to-day thou shalt carry no news, because the king's son is dead.

Joab le contestó: “Hoy no serías portador de buenas nuevas; podrás serlo en otra ocasión, pero hoy no llevarías noticias buenas, por cuanto ha muerto el hijo del rey.”

Y respondióle Joab: Hoy no llevarás las nuevas, otro día las llevarás: no darás hoy la nueva, porque el hijo del rey es muerto.

Men Joab sa til ham: Ikke vil du idag bli en mann med gledelig budskap; en annen dag kan du komme med gledelig budskap; men idag vilde du ikke komme med noget gledelig budskap, siden kongens sønn er død.

«Nei,» sagde Joab, «det vert inkje fagnadbod det du hev å bera i dag. Ein annan dag kann du koma med fagnadtiend. Men i dag vert det ingen fagnadtiend; for det er son åt kongen som er avliden.»
