Da sprach ich: Ach, Herr Jahwe! Fürwahr gründlich hast du dieses Volk und Jerusalem getäuscht, als du sprachst: Heil soll euch widerfahren! während ihnen nun das Schwert ans Leben geht.

Τοτε ειπα, Ω Κυριε Θεε απατων λοιπον ηπατησας τον λαον τουτον και την Ιερουσαλημ, λεγων, Ειρηνην θελετε εχει· ενω η μαχαιρα εφθασεν εως της ψυχης.

Τότε είπα, Ω Κύριε Θεέ απατών λοιπόν ηπάτησας τον λαόν τούτον και την Ιερουσαλήμ, λέγων, Ειρήνην θέλετε έχει· ενώ η μάχαιρα έφθασεν έως της ψυχής.

Then said I, Ah, Lord Jehovah! surely thou hast greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall have peace; whereas the sword reacheth unto the life.

Then said I, Ah, Lord God! your words were not true when you said to this people and to Jerusalem, You will have peace; when the sword has come even to the soul.

How beautiful are your breasts, my sister, my spouse! Your breasts are more beautiful than wine, and the fragrance of your ointments is above all aromatic oils.

And I said, Alas, Lord Jehovah! surely thou hast greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall have peace; whereas the sword reacheth unto the soul.

How beautiful are thy breasts, my sister, my spouse! thy breasts are more beautiful than wine, and the sweet smell of thy ointments above all aromatical spices.
