Και ειπε Κυριος προς εμε, Τι βλεπεις συ, Αμως; Και ειπα, Σταθμην. Τοτε ειπεν ο Κυριος, Ιδου, εγω θελω βαλει σταθμην εις το μεσον του λαου μου Ισραηλ· δεν θελω πλεον παρατρεξει αυτον του λοιπου.

Και είπε Κύριος προς εμέ, Τι βλέπεις συ, Αμώς; Και είπα, Στάθμην. Τότε είπεν ο Κύριος, Ιδού, εγώ θέλω βάλει στάθμην εις το μέσον του λαού μου Ισραήλ· δεν θέλω πλέον παρατρέξει αυτόν του λοιπού.

And Jehovah said unto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumb-line. Then said the Lord, Behold, I will set a plumb-line in the midst of my people Israel; I will not again pass by them any more;

And the Lord said to me, Amos, what do you see? And I said, A weighted line. Then the Lord said, See, I will let down a weighted line among my people Israel; never again will my eyes be shut to their sin:

Og Herren sa til mig: Hvad ser du, Amos? Jeg svarte: Et blylodd. Da sa Herren: Se, jeg vil bruke et blylodd iblandt mitt folk Israel; jeg vil ikke lenger bære over med dets synd.
