Έλαβε λοιπόν ο λαός τας τροφάς εις τας χείρας αυτών και τας σάλπιγγας αυτών· και απέπεμψεν άπαν το επίλοιπον του Ισραήλ, έκαστον εις την σκηνήν αυτού, και εκράτησε τους τριακοσίους άνδρας. Και το στρατόπεδον του Μαδιάμ ήτο υποκάτω αυτών εν τη κοιλάδι.

So the people took victuals in their hand, and their trumpets; and he sent all the men of Israel every man unto his tent, but retained the three hundred men: and the camp of Midian was beneath him in the valley.

So they took the vessels of the people, and their horns from their hands, and he sent them away, every man to his tent, keeping only the three hundred; and the tents of Midian were lower down in the valley.

And so, taking food and trumpets in accord with their number, he instructed all the rest of the multitude to go back to their tents. And with the three hundred men, he gave himself to the conflict. Now the camp of Midian was below, in the valley.

És ők kezökbe vevék a népnek útravalóját és kürtjeit. Az Izráel többi férfiait pedig mind elküldötte, mindeniket a maga hajlékába, és csak a háromszáz férfiút tartotta meg. A Midián tábora pedig alatta feküdt a völgyben.

Så tok de til sig folkets matforråd og deres basuner, og alle de andre Israels menn lot han fare hver til sitt telt; men de tre hundre mann lot han bli igjen hos sig. Og midianittenes leir var lenger nede i dalen.
