لاني خجلت من ان اطلب من الملك جيشا وفرسانا لينجدونا على العدو في الطريق لاننا كلمنا الملك قائلين ان يد الهنا على كل طالبيه للخير. وصولته وغضبه على كل من يتركه.

Ich hatte mich nämlich geschämt, den König um eine bewaffnete Mannschaft und um Reiter zu bitten, die uns unterwegs gegen Feinde hätten schützen können; wir hatten vielmehr dem Könige erklärt: »Die Hand unsers Gottes waltet über allen, die ihn suchen, zu ihrem Heil, aber seine Macht und sein Zorn trifft alle, die ihn verlassen.«

Denn ich schämte mich, vom König ein Heer und Reiter anzufordern, die uns wider die Feinde auf dem Wege helfen könnten; denn wir hatten dem König gesagt: Die Hand unsres Gottes ist über allen, die ihn suchen, zu ihrem Besten; seine Stärke aber und sein Zorn sind gegen alle, die ihn verlassen!

Denn ich schämte mich, vom Könige Heeresmacht und Reiter zu verlangen, damit sie uns auf dem Wege vor Feinden schützten. For I was ashamed to ask of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way, because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them that seek him, for good; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him.

For I would not, for shame, make request to the king for a band of armed men and horsemen to give us help against those who might make attacks on us on the way: for we had said to the king, The hand of our God is on his servants for good, but his power and his wrath are against all those who are turned away from him.
