فعدت ورأيت تحت الشمس ان السعي ليس للخفيف ولا الحرب للاقوياء ولا الخبز للحكماء ولا الغنى للفهماء ولا النعمة لذوي المعرفة لانه الوقت والعرض يلاقيانهم كافة.

Und wiederum sah ich unter der Sonne, daß nicht die Schnellen den Wettlauf gewinnen, noch die Starken die Schlacht, daß nicht die Weisen das Brot, auch nicht die Verständigen den Reichtum, noch die Erfahrenen Gunst erlangen, sondern daß alles auf Zeit und Umstände ankommt.

Wiederum sah ich unter der Sonne, daß nicht die Schnellen über den Lauf verfügen, noch die Helden über den Krieg, noch auch die Weisen über das Brot, noch die Klugen über den Reichtum, noch die Verständigen über die Gunst, sondern Zeit und Geschick widerfährt ihnen allen.
