Dazu vertilgte Josia auch die Totenbeschwörer, die Zeichendeuter, die Teraphim und die Götzen und alle die Scheusale, die im Lande Juda und in Jerusalem zu sehen waren, damit er die Worte des Gesetzes in Kraft treten ließe, die in dem Buche, das der Priester Hilkia im Tempel Jahwes gefunden hatte, geschrieben standen.
