فكلموا ملك اشور قائلين. ان الامم الذين سبيتهم واسكنتهم في مدن السامرة لا يعرفون قضاء اله الارض فارسل عليهم السباع فهي تقتلهم لانهم لا يعرفون قضاء اله الارض.

Da machte man dem König von Assyrien die Meldung: »Die Völkerschaften, die du aus ihrer Heimat hast auswandern lassen und in den Ortschaften Samarias angesiedelt hast, verstehen sich nicht auf die dem Landesgott gebührende Verehrung; daher hat er Löwen gegen sie losgelassen, die nun Verheerungen unter ihnen anrichten, weil sie sich nicht auf die dem Landesgott gebührende Verehrung verstehen.«

Darum ließen sie dem König von Assyrien sagen: Die Völker, welche du hergebracht und in den Städten Samarias angesiedelt hast, kennen das Recht des Landesgottes nicht, darum hat er Löwen unter sie gesandt; und siehe, diese töten sie, weil sie das Recht des Landesgottes nicht kennen!

Da meldete man dem Könige von Assyrien: Die Völkerschaften, die du aus ihrer Heimat weggeführt und in den Städten Samarias angesiedelt hast, wissen nicht, was für eine Verehrung dem Landesgotte gebührt.

Και ειπον προς τον βασιλεα της Ασσυριας, λεγοντες, Τα εθνη, τα οποια μετωκισας και εκαθισας εν ταις πολεσι της Σαμαρειας, δεν γνωριζουσι τον νομον του Θεου της γης· δια τουτο απεστειλε τους λεοντας μεταξυ αυτων, και ιδου, θανατονουσιν αυτους, επειδη δεν γνωριζουσι τον νομον του Θεου της γης.

Και είπον προς τον βασιλέα της Ασσυρίας, λέγοντες, Τα έθνη, τα οποία μετώκισας και εκάθισας εν ταις πόλεσι της Σαμαρείας, δεν γνωρίζουσι τον νόμον του Θεού της γής· διά τούτο απέστειλε τους λέοντας μεταξύ αυτών, και ιδού, θανατόνουσιν αυτούς, επειδή δεν γνωρίζουσι τον νόμον του Θεού της γης.

Wherefore they spake to the king of Assyria, saying, The nations which thou hast carried away, and placed in the cities of Samaria, know not the law of the god of the land: therefore he hath sent lions among them, and, behold, they slay them, because they know not the law of the god of the land.

So they said to the king of Assyria, The nations whom you have taken as prisoners and put in the towns of Samaria, have no knowledge of the way of the god of the land: so he has sent lions among them, causing their death, because they have no knowledge of his way.

And this was reported to the king of the Assyrians, and it was said: “The peoples that you transferred and caused to live in the cities of Samaria, they are ignorant of the ordinances of the God of the land. And so the Lord has sent lions among them. And behold, they have killed them, because they were ignorant of the rituals of the God of the land.”

And they spoke to the king of Assyria saying, The nations that thou hast removed and made to dwell in the cities of Samaria know not the manner of thegod of the land; therefore he has sent lions among them, and behold, they slay them, because they know not the manner of thegod of the land.

And it was told the king of the Assyrians, and it was said: The nations which thou hast removed, and made to dwell in the cities of Samaria, know not the ordinances of the God of the land: and the Lord hath sent lions among them: and behold they kill them, because they know not the manner of the God of the land.

Et on parla au roi d'Assyrie en ces termes: Les nations que tu as déportées et que tu as fait habiter dans les villes de la Samarie, ne connaissent pas la loi du dieu du pays, et il a envoyé chez eux des lions, qui les font mourir, parce qu'ils ne connaissent pas la loi du dieu du pays.

Et on dit au Roi des Assyriens: Les nations que tu as transportées et fait habiter dans les villes de Samarie, ne savent pas la manière de servir le Dieu du pays; c’est pourquoi il a envoyé contr’eux des lions, et voilà, ces lions les tuent, parce qu’ils ne savent pas la manière de servir le Dieu du pays.

Et on parla au roi d’Assyrie, disant: Les nations que tu as transportées et que tu as fait habiter dans les villes de Samarie ne connaissent pas la coutume du dieu du pays, et il a envoyé contre elles des lions, et voici, [ces lions] les font mourir, parce qu’elles ne connaissent pas la coutume du dieu du pays.

On fit donc ce rapport au roi d'Assyrie: « Les nations que tu as déportées et établies dans les villes de Samarie ne connaissent pas la manière de servir le dieu du pays; et il a envoyé contre elles des lions et voici qu'ils les font mourir; parce qu'elles ignorent la manière de servir le dieu du pays. »
