Da sandte er noch einen dritten Hauptmann über fünfzig mit seinen Fünfzigen. Als nun dieser dritte Hauptmann über fünfzig zu ihm hinaufkam, beugte er seine Knie gegen Elia und bat ihn und sprach zu ihm: Du Mann Gottes, laß doch mein Leben und das Leben deiner Knechte, dieser Fünfzig, etwas vor dir gelten!

Darauf schickte er nochmals und zwar einen dritten Hauptmann über fünfzig samt seinen fünfzig aus. Der ging hinauf, und als er hinkam, der dritte Hauptmann über die fünfzig, beugte er seine Kniee vor Elia und redete ihn flehend an: Mann Gottes, laß doch mein Leben und das Leben dieser deiner fünfzig Knechte etwas vor dir gelten!
