Generate vehicle plates in old and Mercosul formats for testing.
Brazilian vehicle plates follow two formats: the legacy three-letter pattern (ABC-1234, used until 2018) and the Mercosul pattern (ABC1D23, being rolled out since 2018). This tool generates random plates in either format.
The generated plates are random combinations that follow the positional rules (letters, digits and the Mercosul letter-in-position-5). They are not linked to any registered vehicle.
Common uses: populating test databases, designing mockups that need realistic plate numbers, and testing OCR or ANPR (automatic number plate recognition) systems.
