How to use

About this tool

In Brazil, almost everything is sold in installments — sem juros on the credit card when the store absorbs the cost, or com juros when it does not. The headline is the installment value, but the number that matters is the total paid: how much more the installment plan costs compared to the cash price. This simulator shows both, side by side.

Type the total price, the down payment and the number of installments. If there is a monthly interest rate, the tool computes the fixed installment using the Price table (the same formula Brazilian banks and stores use), and shows the total paid and the interest cost as a percentage of the cash price. If the rate is zero, the installment is the financed amount divided by the number of months.

The calculation runs in your browser. It is not a credit offer, it does not check your score, and it does not replace the simulation your bank or store provides — which may include IOF, insurance and other charges. Use it as a first check before you sign.

The formula

Installment (Price table) = PV × i × (1+i)^n / ((1+i)^n − 1), where PV is the financed amount, i is the monthly rate and n is the number of installments.

Frequently asked questions

What is "sem juros"?

It means zero interest on the installments — the total paid equals the cash price. The store may have already priced the interest in, but from your perspective the cost is the same.

Does this include IOF?

No. This is a pure interest calculation. Real financing may include IOF, insurance and administrative fees.

Which formula does it use?

The Price table (tabela Price), also called the French amortization system. It produces fixed monthly installments, which is the standard in Brazilian retail.

Does it handle "1+2" or "0+3" formats?

Use the down payment field for the first payment and the number of installments for the rest. "1+2" means a down payment equal to one installment and 2 more.

Does my data leave my browser?

No. The calculation runs entirely in JavaScript on your device.
