About this tool

Adjusts a past monetary value for inflation using official Brazilian indices. IPCA (Índice Nacional de Preços ao Consumidor Amplo) is the headline consumer price index; IGP-M (Índice Geral de Preços — Mercado) is commonly used in rent adjustments and financial contracts.

The index data is fetched from an external API that mirrors IBGE and FGV publications. The amount and dates you enter are sent to this server for the calculation — no other personal data is transmitted.

The tool adjusts for past inflation only. It does not forecast future purchasing power. For rent adjustments, check which index your contract specifies — applying the wrong one can lead to legal disputes.
