فقالوا اذا ارسلتم تابوت اله اسرائيل فلا ترسلوه فارغا بل ردّوا له قربان اثم. حينئذ تشفون ويعلم عندكم لماذا لا ترتفع يده عنكم.

Sie sprachen: Wollt ihr die Lade des Gottes Israels zurück- senden, so sendet sie nicht leer, sondern ein Schuldopfer sollt ihr ihm entrichten; dann werdet ihr genesen und wird es euch kund werden, warum seine Hand nicht von euch läßt.

Sie erwiderten: Wollt ihr die Lade des Gottes Israels fortschaffen, so laßt sie nicht ohne Entgelt von dannen gehn, sondern erstattet ihr ein Sühngeschenk. Dann werdet ihr heil, und es wird euch kund werden, weshalb seine Hand nicht von euch abläßt.

Οι δε είπον, Εάν εξαποστείλητε την κιβωτόν του Θεού του Ισραήλ, μη αποστείλητε αυτήν κενήν· αλλά κατά πάντα τρόπον απόδοτε εις αυτόν προσφοράν περί ανομίας· τότε θέλετε ιαθή και θέλετε γνωρίσει διά τι η χειρ αυτού δεν απεσύρθη από σας.

And they said, If ye send away the ark of the God of Israel, send it not empty; but by all means return him a trespass-offering: then ye shall be healed, and it shall be known to you why his hand is not removed from you.

“If you send back the ark of the God of Israel, do not choose to release it empty. Instead, repay to him what you owe because of sin. And then you will be cured. And you will know why his hand did not withdraw from you.”

De svarte: Dersom I sender Israels Guds ark bort, må I ikke sende den uten gaver, men I skal gi ham et skyldoffer til vederlag; da skal I bli lægt, og I skal få vite hvorfor hans hånd ikke viker fra eder.

Dei svara: «Vil de senda burt kista åt Israels Gud, må de ikkje senda henne gåvelaus; de lyt bera sonoffer åt honom til vederlag; so vert de lækte, og det vil få vita kvifor handi hans ikkje hev vike frå dykk.»

Którzy odpowiedzieli: Jeźli odeślecie skrzynię Boga Izraelskiego, nie odsyłajcież jej próżnej, ale przy niej koniecznie oddajcie ofiarę za przewinienie; tedyć będziecie uzdrowieni, i dowiecie się, czemu nie odstąpiła ręka jego od was.
