Und die Priester waren damit einverstanden, von dem Volk kein Geld mehr zu nehmen und auch für die Ausbesserung des Hauses nicht mehr zu sorgen.

Da berief der König Jehoas den Priester Jojada und die übrigen Priester und sprach zu ihnen: Warum bessert ihr denn nicht aus, was am Tempel baufällig ist? So sollt ihr auch kein Geld mehr in Empfang nehmen von euren Bekannten, sondern sollt es hergeben für das, was am Tempel baufällig ist.
