Bývali pak i falešní proroci v lidu, jakož i mezi vámi budou falešní učitelé, kteříž uvedou sekty zatracení, i toho Pána, kterýž je vykoupil, zapírajíce, uvodíce na sebe rychlé zahynutí.

Υπηρξαν ομως και ψευδοπροφηται μεταξυ του λαου, καθως και μεταξυ σας θελουσιν εισθαι ψευδοδιδασκαλοι, οιτινες θελουσι παρεισαξει αιρεσεις απωλειας, αρνουμενοι και τον αγορασαντα αυτους δεσποτην, επισυροντες εις εαυτους ταχειαν απωλειαν·

Υπήρξαν όμως και ψευδοπροφήται μεταξύ του λαού, καθώς και μεταξύ σας θέλουσιν είσθαι ψευδοδιδάσκαλοι, οίτινες θέλουσι παρεισάξει αιρέσεις απωλείας, αρνούμενοι και τον αγοράσαντα αυτούς δεσπότην, επισύροντες εις εαυτούς ταχείαν απώλειαν·

But there arose false prophets also among the people, as among you also there shall be false teachers, who shall privily bring in destructive heresies, denying even the Master that bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.

But there were false prophets among the people, as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly put forward wrong teachings for your destruction, even turning away from the Lord who gave himself for them; whose destruction will come quickly, and they themselves will be the cause of it.

And so I beg you, first of all, to make supplications, prayers, petitions, and thanksgivings for all men,

But there were false prophets also among the people, as there shall be also among you false teachers, who shall bring in by the bye destructive heresies, and deny the master that bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction;

I desire therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings be made for all men:

提防假先知和假教師從前在人民中，曾有假先知出來；照樣，將來在你們中間，也必有假教師出現。他們偷偷把使人滅亡的異端引進來，甚至否認那曾經買贖他們的主，迅速地自取滅亡。
