فاخذوا الثور الذي اعطي لهم وقربوه ودعوا باسم البعل من الصباح الى الظهر قائلين يا بعل اجبنا. فلم يكن صوت ولا مجيب. وكانوا يرقصون حول المذبح الذي عمل.

Και ελαβον τον μοσχον τον δοθεντα εις αυτους και ητοιμασαν αυτον, και επεκαλουντο το ονομα του Βααλ απο πρωιας μεχρι μεσημβριας, λεγοντες, Επακουσον ημων, Βααλ· και ουκ ην φωνη και ουκ ην ακροασις· και επηδων περι το θυσιαστηριον, το οποιον ωκοδομησαν.
