How to use

  1. Read the SUI price in reais at the top, with the date and time of the quote printed under it.
  2. Type an amount in either field — the unit costs a few tens of reais, so whole coins and round amounts in reais both make sense here.
  3. Press "Refresh rate" for the value of this minute. The market runs every day, weekends included.

About this tool

Sui is a blockchain network that opened to the public in May 2023, built by Mysten Labs, founded by engineers who had worked on Diem — the currency Facebook announced in 2019 and abandoned three years later. They kept that project's language, Move, and rebuilt the network around a different idea: on Sui a coin or an asset is an object with an owner, not a balance in one shared ledger. A plain transfer, touching only what you own, settles in a fraction of a second without waiting for the whole network to agree on an ordering; a transaction touching something shared goes through full consensus. Fees are fractions of a centavo, and a feature called zkLogin opens a wallet from an ordinary web login instead of a seed phrase.

The thing to say plainly is that Sui is young: three years of live operation is not enough to tell a durable network from a well-funded one, and its price history covers a single market cycle. Two facts weigh more than that chart. The first is supply — of the ten billion SUI that will ever exist, a large share is still held by the company, its early backers and the foundation, released on a schedule that adds tokens to the market every month regardless of demand. The second is May 2025, when Cetus, the biggest exchange running on Sui, was drained of roughly 220 million dollars and validators coordinated to freeze the stolen funds — recovering most of the money, and raising a question about decentralisation that has not gone away.

The price moves on unlock dates, on how much real activity the network's applications hold, on listings, and above all on the market as a whole — a network this new trades as an amplified version of everything else. In Brazil there is no particular use for it: SUI turned up on the local exchanges' lists and is bought here as a bet that a network launched after Solana ends up mattering. The value at the top is a CoinGecko reference averaged across exchanges, saved every half hour, with the moment of the quote beside it.

Frequently asked questions

Where does this number come from, and how old is it?

From CoinGecko, an average across many exchanges, saved by a job that runs every 30 minutes; the date and time of that quote are printed under the value. Press "Refresh rate" and your browser fetches the current one directly. SUI trades at weekends too.

Why is the price at my exchange different from the one here?

Because this is an average reference and an exchange sets its own prices: a buying and a selling price with a spread between them, a trading fee, and another fee on withdrawal. A gap of a couple of per cent is ordinary.

What does Sui do that other fast networks do not?

Its model of ownership. Because assets are objects with an owner rather than entries in one global ledger, a simple transfer skips the queue for network-wide agreement; only transactions touching shared state need full consensus. Users see two effects: fees of fractions of a centavo, and zkLogin, a wallet tied to a web login rather than a seed phrase.

Is the whole supply already in circulation?

No, and this matters more than most news about the project. The cap is ten billion tokens, and a large part are still locked with the company, early investors and the foundation, released on a published schedule regardless of the price. Check that calendar before reading anything into a fall.

What went wrong in 2025?

Cetus, the largest exchange built on Sui, lost around 220 million dollars in May 2025 to a bug in its own contracts, not in the network itself. Validators then froze the attacker's addresses and most of the funds came back — a good outcome for the victims, and an uncomfortable demonstration of how coordinated a young network is.
