A distraction-free notepad that autosaves to your browser — no account, no server, no sync.
Sometimes you just need a blank page right now: to paste something before a copy is lost, to draft a message without a word processor booting up, to keep a scratch list during a call. This notepad is exactly that — a large, distraction-free text area that opens instantly and saves your writing automatically, with no account, no cookie walls and no "create your first document" ceremony.
The autosave works through your browser's localStorage: about 400 milliseconds after you stop typing, the text is written to a small storage area that belongs to this site in this browser, and the indicator flips from "Saving..." to "Saved". Close the tab, restart the computer, come back next week — the note is still here, because it never left your machine. That design is also its honest limitation: the note exists only in that one browser on that one device. There is no server copy, no sync to your phone, and no way for anyone (including us) to read it. In a private/incognito window, or if the browser blocks site data, autosave is not available — the notepad still works, and a discreet notice tells you nothing is being persisted.
Because the storage lives with the browser's site data, clearing browsing data, some "cleaner" utilities, or uninstalling the browser will erase the note along with it. Treat the notepad as a scratchpad, not an archive: anything worth keeping deserves a click on "Download .txt", which saves a plain text file to your device. The word and character counter runs live while you type, and "Copy all" grabs the whole note in one click — handy for moving a finished draft into an email or CMS.

Yes. Clearing site data, cookies or browsing history for this site deletes the saved note, and so can cleaner utilities or reinstalling the browser. Download important notes as .txt files — that copy is yours permanently.
No. Nothing you type is transmitted anywhere — typing, autosaving and counting all run 100% in JavaScript on your device. That is why no account is needed, and also why there is no cloud backup.
Because localStorage is blocked or full — typically a private/incognito window, a browser configured to block site data, or an exhausted quota. You can still write, copy and download normally; the text just will not survive closing the tab.
Practically, yes: browsers give localStorage around 5 MB per site, which is several million characters — far more than any normal note. If the limit is ever hit, the notepad warns you instead of failing silently.
