About this tool

Multiplication is repeated addition, and a times table is just that addition already done: 7 × 4 is four sevens, or 28. Learning the tables from 1 to 10 means learning 100 facts — except it does not, because multiplication is commutative and 7 × 4 gives the same answer as 4 × 7. That symmetry cuts the real work almost in half, to 55 distinct facts, and it is visible in the 1-10 grid on this page: the numbers mirror each other across the diagonal. Clicking any cell loads the full table of that row, so the grid works as a map of what you still need to practise.

The tool builds the table for any number from 1 to 100, not only the classroom 1 to 10, which makes it useful well past primary school — the table of 12 for buying by the dozen, of 15 or 30 for scheduling, of 60 for converting minutes. The optional division column shows each line undone (7 × 4 = 28, then 28 ÷ 7 = 4), which is the fastest way to see that division is the inverse operation rather than a separate skill. The whole table is also written out as plain text, so the copy button hands you something you can paste into a document or print.

Practice mode turns the same table into random questions: it draws a factor from 1 to 10, waits for your answer, and tells you immediately whether it was right, showing the correct product when it was not. The session score counts answers and hits, and that is all it does — there is no login, no ranking and no storage of any kind, so reloading the page starts a clean slate. Everything, from the grid to the scoring, is generated in JavaScript inside your browser: nothing you type is sent to a server.

Is my practice score saved?

No. The score exists only while the page is open — it is kept in memory, never written to storage or cookies, and it resets when you reload or leave.

How do I memorise the times tables faster?

Lean on the patterns: anything ×10 just gains a zero, ×5 always ends in 0 or 5, ×9 produces digits that add up to 9 (18, 27, 36...), and every fact you know gives you a second one for free, since 6 × 8 and 8 × 6 are the same. Practice mode is there to drill the handful that remain.

Can I copy or print the table?

Yes. The whole table is available as plain text through the copy button, ready to paste into a document, a message or a printout.

Why does it also show the division?

Because it is the same fact read backwards. Seeing 7 × 4 = 28 next to 28 ÷ 7 = 4 makes the inverse relationship obvious, and it is exactly the step that makes division easier later on.

Does anything I type leave my browser?

No. The tables, the grid and the practice questions are all generated on your device in JavaScript — nothing is transmitted, stored or logged.
