How to use

  1. Read the TRX price in reais at the top, with the date and time the quote was taken printed under it.
  2. Type an amount in either field — the table runs from one coin up to ten thousand, because the useful question here is usually about a lot of them.
  3. Press "Refresh rate" for the value of this minute. TRX trades every day of the year, weekends included.

About this tool

TRON matters far more as a pipe than as an asset. It carries the largest share of the Tether (USDT) in circulation — tens of billions of dollars, more than Ethereum for most of recent years — because a transfer settles in seconds and costs a fraction of what it costs elsewhere. That is the likeliest reason a Brazilian lands here: if someone abroad pays you in USDT, the coins often arrive on TRON, labelled TRC-20 on the withdrawal screen, which is exactly why that label deserves a second look. USDT sent as TRC-20 to an address that only exists on Ethereum is lost, and moving TRC-20 USDT needs a little TRX in the same wallet to pay the fee.

The fee is not fixed. TRON charges in energy and bandwidth, which you buy by burning TRX or obtain by freezing it, and the network's own voters have raised the price of energy more than once since 2024 — roughly doubling what a USDT transfer costs anyone who is not staking. That is where demand for the coin comes from: fees burned by users, not anything TRX pays you. The other half of the price is one person. TRON was created by Justin Sun in 2017 and is validated by 27 elected representatives rather than thousands of independent machines, and Sun's moves — an SEC lawsuit filed in March 2023 over unregistered sales and alleged wash trading, put on hold in early 2025 — shift it more than any technical release.

The value at the top is a CoinGecko reference, averaged across exchanges and stored by a job that runs every half hour, with the moment of the quote beside it; your exchange adds its own spread and its own fees. Two honest points. The volume that makes TRON look busy is overwhelmingly stablecoin transfer, and part of it is criminal: a United Nations report in January 2024 named USDT on TRON as the preferred instrument of scam and laundering networks in Southeast Asia, a regulatory risk attached to the token. And using the network to receive dollars is not the same as owning TRX — the first needs almost none of the second.

Frequently asked questions

Where does this number come from, and how old is it?

From CoinGecko, which averages the price across many exchanges, saved here by a job that runs every 30 minutes; the date and time of that quote are printed under the value. Press "Refresh rate" and your browser fetches the current one directly. TRX trades every day, weekends included.

Why is the price at my exchange different from the one here?

Because this is an average reference and an exchange is a shop with its own prices: a buying price and a selling price with a spread between them, a trading fee, and another fee to withdraw. A couple of per cent away from the reference is ordinary, and wider on a small order.

What does TRC-20 mean, and how do I avoid losing a transfer?

TRC-20 is the token standard on TRON, as ERC-20 is on Ethereum. The same USDT exists on both, but they are different networks with different addresses and the withdrawal screen makes you choose. Coins sent on the wrong network usually cannot be recovered, so check that both sides say TRON and send a small test first.

Why did sending USDT on TRON get more expensive?

Because the fee comes from network parameters that TRON's representatives vote on, and they raised the price of energy more than once from 2024 onwards. You pay either by burning TRX per transaction or by freezing TRX for a daily energy allowance. Either way, keep a small TRX balance: USDT with no TRX beside it cannot be moved.
