فيكون متى سمع كلام هذه اللعنة يتبرك في قلبه قائلا يكون لي سلام اني باصرار قلبي اسلك لافناء الريان مع العطشان.
I stalo by se, že uslyše takový slova zlořečení tohoto, dobrořečil by sobě v srdci svém, řka: Pokoj míti budu, bychť pak i chodil podlé žádosti srdce svého; i přidal by opilou žíznivé.

und daß keiner, wenn er die Worte dieses Fluches hört, sich dennoch in seinem Herzen glücklich preise und spreche: «Ich werde Frieden haben, wenn ich schon wandle in der Verstocktheit meines Herzens!»; so daß alsdann weggerafft würde das Getränkte mit dem Durstigen.
Einem solchen wird Jahwe nie verzeihen mögen, vielmehr wird alsdann der Zorn und der Eifer Jahwes gegen einen solchen Menschen auflodern; der ganze in diesem Buch aufgezeichnete Fluch wird sich auf ihn niederlassen, und Jahwe wird seinen Namen unter dem Himmel auslöschen.

and it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart, to destroy the moist with the dry.
If such a man, hearing the words of this oath, takes comfort in the thought that he will have peace even if he goes on in the pride of his heart, taking whatever chance may give him:
And if he were to hear the words of this oath, he would bless himself in his own heart saying: ‘There will be peace for me, and I will walk in the depravity of my heart.’ And so, the one who is inebriated would consume the one who is thirsty.
