وجاء شافان الكاتب الى الملك ورد على الملك جوابا وقال. قد افرغ عبيدك الفضة الموجودة في البيت ودفعوها الى يد عاملي الشغل وكلاء بيت الرب.

Přišel pak Safan písař k králi, a oznamuje králi tu věc, řekl: Sebrali služebníci tvoji peníze, kteréž se nalezly v domě Páně, a dali je v ruce řemeslníků představených nad dílem domu Hospodinova.

Και ηλθε Σαφαν ο γραμματευς προς τον βασιλεα και ανεφερε λογον προς τον βασιλεα και ειπεν, Οι δουλοι σου εσυναξαν το αργυριον το ευρεθεν εν τω οικω, και παρεδωκαν αυτο εις την χειρα των ποιουντων τα εργα, των επιστατουντων εις τον οικον του Κυριου.

Και ήλθε Σαφάν ο γραμματεύς προς τον βασιλέα και ανέφερε λόγον προς τον βασιλέα και είπεν, Οι δούλοί σου εσύναξαν το αργύριον το ευρεθέν εν τω οίκω, και παρέδωκαν αυτό εις την χείρα των ποιούντων τα έργα, των επιστατούντων εις τον οίκον του Κυρίου.

And Shaphan the scribe came to the king, and brought the king word again, and said, Thy servants have emptied out the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hand of the workmen that have the oversight of the house of Jehovah.

Then, after reading it, Shaphan the scribe went in to the king and gave him an account of what had been done, saying, Your servants have given out the money which was in the house, and have given it to the overseers of the work of the house of the Lord.

Also, Shaphan, the scribe, went to the king, and reported to him what he had instructed. And he said: “Your servants have brought together the money which was found in the house of the Lord. And they have given it so that it would be distributed to the workers by the overseers of the works of the temple of the Lord.”

And Shaphan the scribe came to the king, and brought the king word again and said, Thy servants have emptied out the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hand of them that do the work, that have the oversight of the house of Jehovah.

And Saphan, the scribe, came to the king, and brought him word again concerning that which he had commanded, and said: Thy servants have gathered together the money that was found in the house of the Lord: and they have given it to be distributed to the workmen, by the overseers of the works of the temple of the Lord.

So Shaphan the chanceller came to ye King, and brought him word againe, and saide, Thy seruants haue gathered the money, that was found in the house, and haue deliuered it vnto the hands of them that doe the worke, and haue the ouersight of the house of the Lord.

Så kom statsskriveren Safan tilbake til kongen og meldte: Dine tjenere har tømt ut de penger som fantes i huset, og overgitt dem til dem som forestår arbeidet og har tilsyn med Herrens hus.

Därefter gick sekreteraren Safan in till konungen och avgav sin berättelse inför konungen; han sade: »Dina tjänare hava tömt ut de penningar som funnos i templet, och hava överlämnat dem åt de män som förrätta arbete såsom tillsyningsmän vid HERRENS hus.»
