How to use

  1. Choose a marketplace: Mercado Livre, Shopee, Amazon or Magalu.
  2. Type the selling price, the product cost, and the shipping cost you pay (if any).
  3. Read the net profit and the margin — the breakdown shows each fee separately.

About this tool

Selling on a marketplace means giving up a share of the sale price in commissions and fees. The share varies by platform, by product category, by listing type, and sometimes by the seller's reputation. On Mercado Livre, the standard commission is 11–19%. On Shopee, 14–20%. On Amazon, 8–20%. And then there is a payment fee, a shipping cost, and sometimes a listing fee or a monthly subscription. The sticker price on the listing is not the money that reaches the seller, and the gap is usually larger than people expect.

This calculator takes the selling price, the product cost, and the shipping cost, applies the standard commission and payment fee for the chosen marketplace, and shows the net profit and the margin. It uses the typical commission rate for each platform — not the lowest negotiated rate and not the highest luxury-category rate, but the one most sellers actually pay. The breakdown shows each fee on its own line so you can see where the money goes.

The fee data comes from the official help centres and simulators of each marketplace, collected on the date printed at the bottom. Commissions change with promotions, seller programmes, and category reviews — the platform is the only authoritative source for your specific situation. Everything runs in your browser, and nothing you type is uploaded.

The formula

Net profit = selling price − (selling price × commission %) − (selling price × payment fee %) − shipping − product cost. Margin = net profit ÷ selling price × 100%.

Frequently asked questions

Are these the exact fees I will pay?

These are the standard commission rates from each platform's help centre. Your actual rate depends on the product category, the listing type, your seller level and any promotional campaigns. The platform simulator is the definitive source.

Does this include taxes?

No. Taxes (Simples Nacional, ICMS, ISS, etc.) depend on the seller's tax regime and location. The profit shown here is before tax.

Why is the margin so low?

Because marketplace fees are higher than most sellers expect. A product with a 100% markup (cost R$ 50, price R$ 100) can end up with a margin of 20% or less after platform fees and shipping. That is why pricing for marketplaces needs to account for fees from the start, not as an afterthought.

Does my pricing data leave my browser?

No. The fee table is embedded in the page and the calculation runs locally. Nothing is uploaded or stored.

Can I compare marketplaces side by side?

Change the marketplace dropdown and the result updates. To compare directly, note the net profit for each platform with the same price and cost.
