Generate a QR code from any text, URL, e-mail address, phone number or SMS — free, instant, no sign-up.
A QR code is a two-dimensional barcode that encodes text in a grid of black and white squares. Any smartphone camera can read it, which makes it the standard way to bridge a printed surface and a digital destination — a URL, a phone number, an e-mail address or a plain text message. This generator creates the code entirely in your browser using the qrcode-generator library, without uploading anything to a server.
The code is rendered as an SVG, which means it scales to any size without losing sharpness. For specialized payloads — a Pix payment, a Wi-Fi network or a contact card — use the dedicated tools in the QR Codes section, which format the payload according to the standard each one requires (EMV for Pix, WPA for Wi-Fi, vCard 3.0 for contacts).
There is a size limit: a QR code can hold at most about 3,000 bytes of text (less with error correction). For a URL this is rarely a problem; for a block of text it can be. If the content is too long, the generator says so instead of producing an unreadable code.
No. The code is generated in your browser by a JavaScript library. The content you type never leaves your device.
The QR code itself is an open standard (ISO/IEC 18004) with no licensing fee. The code this tool generates is yours to use however you like.
Usually because the content is too long and the squares became too small. Shorten the text or the URL and try again.
The Pix QR encodes a structured EMV payload with a Pix key, an amount and a CRC-16 checksum. This tool encodes plain text. A Pix QR must follow the BCB specification — use the dedicated Pix tool for that.
Not in this tool — the output is standard black on white, which gives the best scan reliability. For branded QR codes with logos and colours, a QR management platform is the right tool.
