Split PDF

Break a PDF into smaller files by page ranges — every N pages, into N parts, or custom ranges. Nothing is uploaded.

How to use

  1. Choose a PDF file (up to 200 MB) — a thumbnail strip shows all pages.
  2. Pick a split mode: every N pages, into N equal parts, or custom page ranges. A preview shows exactly what each part will contain.
  3. Click "Split PDF" — the parts appear as download cards. Download them individually or all at once.

About this tool

A report that needs to go to different departments, a book whose chapters should be separate files, a bank statement where each month deserves its own PDF — splitting is one of the most common PDF tasks and usually means uploading the document to someone else's server. This tool does it inside your browser.

Three modes cover the common cases. "Every N pages" produces parts of equal length (the last part may be shorter). "Into N equal parts" distributes pages as evenly as possible. "Custom ranges" lets you type exactly which pages go into each file — 1-3, 4-6, 7-10 and so on. A preview line shows the result before you click.

Each part is a new PDF built by copying pages from the original. Text stays selectable, fonts stay embedded, and images keep their resolution. After splitting, the parts appear as download cards — grab them one by one or click "Download all" to save them in sequence.

Frequently asked questions

Is the PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The file is read and processed entirely in your browser. Nothing is transmitted, stored or logged.

Does splitting reduce quality?

No. Pages are copied as they are — text, images, fonts and vector graphics remain identical to the original.

Can I split a password-protected PDF?

No. The tool cannot open encrypted PDFs. Remove the password first, save an unprotected copy and try again.

Can I download all parts at once?

Yes. The "Download all" button downloads every part in sequence with a brief pause between each to avoid triggering your browser's popup blocker. You can also download each part individually by clicking its own button.
