والنار على المذبح تتقد عليه. لا تطفأ. ويشعل عليها الكاهن حطبا كل صباح ويرتّب عليها المحرقة ويوقد عليها شحم ذبائح السلامة.
Oheň pak, kterýž jest na oltáři, bude hořeti na něm, nebude uhašován. A bude zapalovati jím kněz dříví každého jitra, a zpořádá na něm obět zápalnou, a páliti bude na něm tuk pokojných obětí.

(H6:5) Und das Feuer auf dem Altar soll auf demselben in Brand erhalten werden, es soll nicht erlöschen; und der Priester soll Holz auf ihm anzünden, Morgen für Morgen, und das Brandopfer auf ihm zurichten, und die Fettstücke der Friedensopfer auf ihm räuchern.
Weiter gebot der HERR dem Mose folgendes:
(H6-5) Aber das Feuer auf dem Altar soll auf demselben brennend erhalten werden; es soll nicht erlöschen; darum soll der Priester alle Morgen Holz darauf anzünden und das Brandopfer darauf zurichten und das Fett der Dankopfer darauf verbrennen.

Και το πυρ το επί του θυσιαστηρίου θέλει καίεσθαι επ' αυτού· δεν θέλει σβεσθή· και θέλει καίει ο ιερεύς επ' αυτού ξύλα καθ' εκάστην πρωΐαν, και θέλει στοιβάσει το ολοκαύτωμα επ' αυτού, και θέλει καίει επ' αυτού το στέαρ της ειρηνικής προσφοράς.
And the fire upon the altar shall be kept burning thereon, it shall not go out; and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning: and he shall lay the burnt-offering in order upon it, and shall burn thereon the fat of the peace-offerings.
The fire on the altar is to be kept burning; it is never to go out; every morning the priest is to put wood on it, placing the burned offering in order on it, and there the fat of the peace-offering is to be burned.
